This composition was an opportunity for me to explore some possibilities of an orchestra that could be described as “ light”. I sought a dynamic rhythmic writing while retaining a “cantabile” melodic curve combined with the lightness of the orchestration. I also looked for harmonic sensitivity and instrumental balance both in the tutti pages and in the more intimate moments. These are the contrasts between the deployments of the orchestral “mass” and the passages with a more ethereal climate allowing a few soloists to speak.
