Georges CASTEIG

Born in 1966, Georges Casteig is a French composer.

He began his studies in classical musical composition in Bordeaux with Doru Dogaru (Principal Violin of the National Bordeaux Aquitaine Orchestra), before continuing his training at the Polyphonies School of Composition under the guidance of composer Jean-Luc Kuczynski. There, he studied harmony, counterpoint, composition and orchestration before devoting himself fully to musical creation.

His music is distinguished by its artistic independence, lyricism and freedom of expression. Rejecting rigid stylistic frameworks, he has developed a personal musical language in which composition becomes a space for freedom, self-discovery and artistic expression.

Among the works performed in concert are “Paradis perdu” for piano trio, premiered at the Cube de Musique Festival in 2020 by the Trio Érable, and “La chapelle oubliée” for violin and piano, performed in Bordeaux in 2023 by Pauline Larreta and Audrey Lonca-Alberto.
